Principal's Message
April 2015

Greetings Parents,

As the temperature increases, so does the use of technology on our campus. Students are using technology in their Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies classes. They are using iPads and laptops on a daily basis to get them ready to compete globally. Our students are getting ready to take their AZ Merit online test, which will take place in April.

We are having some amazing events during the spring. Students will participate in a full day of Junior Achievement on May 14th.  Another event is Bring your Parent to School Day, which is on April 29th.  In addition, the Science Fair will be on April 23 from 3PM to 5PM. Finally, we will have 8th grade promotion at Grand Canyon on May 19th.

Granada East is piloting a new program to support 7th and 8th grade students to become more responsible learners. Students have the opportunity to be involved with a raffle to win prizes for demonstrating positive behaviors such as being on task.  Students will be supported after school from 2:30 to 4:00 for students who need extra support with becoming responsible learners.

Please continue to support our schools by being involved at our school. You are welcome to stop by and become a volunteer. Another way to support our school is to attend Booster and SCC meetings, which will take place on April 17th. Most important, please check in with your child every day to ensure that they are doing their homework and you establish the expectation of school does not stop at 2:30.

Thank you for all your support,

Dr. Randy Martinez

Welcome to Granada East Middle School,

At Granada East Middle School we have core commitments on what we believe must happen in our school.  Below are the core commitments from Granada East's leadership team:

I believe all students deserve a high quality education from all their teachers everyday. This high quality education will give them the tools to be successful academically, socially, and behaviorally at Granada East, high school, college, career and beyond.

Dr. Randy Martinez, Principal
I believe that every child is born with the ability to learn and achieve. I believe that it is my responsibility as an educator to use every tool necessary to actualize the learning potential in each of them.

Ms. Alana Ragland, Outreach Coordinator
